To provide a dental prosthesis having adequate strength and high safety and excellent in affinity/contactness for oral mucous membrane.
SOLUTION: The dental prosthesis consists mainly of a plastic material. A saponified product (EVOH) of an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer is used as the plastic material. The EVOH is a resin having merits having good hydrophilicity and having good contactness with oral mucous membrane, because the EVOH is swollen by saliva in oral cavity and excellent in safety, because the EVOH has adequate hardness and does not discharge a component poisonous to human bodies even by heating or hydrolysis and etc. and excellent in moldability because of thermoplastic resin. The dental prosthesis is particularly used as a denture base or a mooring member for denture base.
