The present invention relates to an outer cover of a sanitary pad and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to a sanitary pad, which comprises: a cover layer having secretions to pass therethrough； an absorption layer for absorbing the sections transferred from the cover layer； and a water-proof layer for preventing the secretions absorbed in the absorption layer from leaking to the outside. The water-proof layer includes a fabric, wherein the fabric has a contact angle of 90° or more and a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of 10,000 g/m^2·day or more. According to the present invention, the fabric used as the water-proof layer in the sanitary pad has excellent waterproofing properties for preventing the secretions absorbed in the absorption layer from leaking to the outside, has excellent air permeability to suppress odor generation and provides comfortable wearing sensation.본 발명은 위생 패드 외피 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 분비물을 통과시키는 표지층, 상기 표지층으로부터 전달된 분비물을 흡수하는 흡수층 및 상기 흡수층에 흡수된 분비물이 외부로 새어 나가지 않게 막는 방수층을 포함하는 위생 패드로, 상기 방수층은 원단을 포함하되, 상기 원단은 접촉각이 90° 이상이고 MVTR(Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate)이 10,000 g/m·day 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 위생 패드 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 위생패드에서 방수층으로 사용되는 원단은 흡수층에 흡수된 분비물이 외부로 새어 나오는 것을 방지하는 방수성이 우수하면서도 통기성이 우수하여 냄새 발생을 억제하고 착용감이 쾌적한 효과가 있다.
