PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granule discharge device and a granule discharge method which can improve reliability of a discharge operation and can stop discharging of granules in an abnormal state.SOLUTION: A granule discharge device 11 comprises: a hopper 25 which is installed at an upper position of a cargo box 2 comprising an open top face 3, an open first side face 7, and a bottom face 4 having an inclined face 5 inclined upward toward the first side face 7, and discharges granules 20; inclined face detection means 31 for detecting that the discharged granules 20 have spread onto a top face of the inclined face 5 of the cargo box 2; and a control device 53 which is control means 51 for stopping discharging from the hopper 25 when detection output of the inclined face detection means 31 occurs before the elapse of a predetermined discharge time from a discharge start time of the hopper 25.
