Also disclosed is a roasted coffee bean extract for use in enhancement of fat oxidation or energy metabolism, comprising chlorogenic acids or salts thereof and having the content of hydroxyhydroquinone of less than 0.1% by mass relative to the content of the chlorogenic acids. Further disclosed is use of a roasted coffee bean extract for the production of a fat oxidation or energy metabolism enhancer, comprising chlorogenic acids or salts thereof and having the content of hydroxyhydroquinone of less than 0.1% by mass relative to the content of the chlorogenic acids.
