Use of chitosan and chondroitin nanoparticles for the treatment of leishmaniasis The present technology consists of the use of chitosan and chondroitin nanoparticles alone or in combination with drugs for the treatment of tegumentary and visceral leishmaniasis. The nanoparticles were prepared by the pec technique (polyelectrolyte complexes) using two oppositely charged polymers, chitosan (chi) and chondroitin (chs), which have a synergistic effect against leishmaniasis. In addition, nanoparticles were able to carry the amphotericin drug with good efficacy in the treatment of leishmaniasis, as well as low toxicity.uso de nanoparticulas de quitosana e condroitina para o tratamento de leishmaniose a presente tecnologia consiste no uso de nanoparticulas de quitosana e condroitina isolado ou em associagao com farmacos para o tratamento de leishmanioses’ tegumentar e visceral. as nanoparticulas foram preparadas pela técnica de pec (complexos de polieletrélitos) utilizando dois polimeros de cargas opostas, a quitosana (qui) e a condroitina (chs), que apresentam efeito sinérgico contra a leishmaniose. adicionalmente, as nanoparticulas foram capazes de carrear o férmaco anfotericina apresentando boa e?cacia no tratamento de leishmanioses, além de baixa toxicidade.
