PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter.SOLUTION: A catheter includes: a catheter body and a deflectable area which are accompanied with a flat deflection beam having different deflection start places on the respective sides of a beam in order to provide asymmetrical bi-directional deflection through a single continuous tension wire with two longer parallel segments connected by a U-shaped bent segment fixed to the distal end of the beam. In order to decrease bending moment of the beam, in order to guide and connect the tension wire segments, and in order to keep a predetermined separating distance between the tension wire and the beam including a neutral bending axis of the beam, a spacer is provided on each side of the beam.
