Disclosed is a trace element solution, which comprises at least the following metals: (a) zinc in a concentration of at least 60 mg/ml (b) manganese in a concentration of at least 10 mg/ml (c) selenium in a concentration of at least 5 mg/ml and (d) copper in a concentration of at least 15 mg/ml and which comprises a concentration of the metals of at least 90 mg/ml and in which the ratio of zinc to manganese is at least 2: 1, the ratio of zinc to copper is at least 2: 1, and the ratio of zinc to selenium is at least 4:1.
