The present invention provides use of a Tartary buckwheat husk extract for manufacture of a composition for improving mitochondrial activity, enhancing expression of anti-aging genes, and inhibiting protein glycation. The Tartary buckwheat husk extract is preferably prepared by extraction of Tartary buckwheat husk using water as solvents.
