The present invention relates to a composition in the form of an oil-in-water dispersion comprising a silicone thickener and a polymeric thickener having a droplet diameter of about 2000 microns or less. Such compositions are useful for stimulating collagen production in human patients and other mammals, and have applications for the expansion of soft tissue in a variety of medical and cosmetic procedures. The present invention also relates to methods of preparing such compositions and methods of stimulating collagen production in human patients and other mammals in need thereof.
