The present invention relates to a genetically-transformed lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. Capitata) by the stable introduction and integration into the genome of the gna gene (Galanthus nivalis agglutinin) which is responsible for the synthesis of snowdrop agglutinin, conferring on the transformed plants resistance to the attack of noxious insects from the Orthoptera (locusts) and Homoptera (aphids) orders. Target species are Nilaparvata lugens Stl, Myzus persicae Sulzer and Lipaphis erysimi. During the transformation protocol there were employed lettuce leaf disks and suspensions of gram-negative bacteria Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain, LBA 4404, including the binary vector pBI 121, constructed in such a way that it includes the gene npt II (for neomycin phosphotransferase II) as selection marker gene of the transformed plants which was put under the control of a promoter CaMV-35S and of a Nos (nopalin synthetase) terminator. The gna gene was integrated into the pBI 121 vector and transferred to lettuce plants.Prezenta invenţie se referă la o salată () transformată genetic, prin introducerea şi integrarea stabilă în genom a genei gna () care este responsabilă de sinteza aglutininei de la ghiocel, conferind plantelor transformate rezistenţă la atacul insectelor dăunătoare din ordinele(lăcuste) şi Homoptera (afide). Speciile vizate sunt.
