The present invention relates to a water-dispersible microcapsule containing an oil phase containing a photosensitive compound capable of generating a gas upon exposure to light, such as a perfume. The gas can cause the microcapsules to swell or break, releasing the oil phase and thus increasing the long-term persistence of odor perception.
