Disclosed is crystalline 4-[(Z)-[[4-[(dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl]amino](6-fluoro-1,2-dihydro-2-oxo-3H-indol-3-ylidene)methyl]-benzenepropanoic acid monohydrochloride hemihydrate characterised by a melting point of 285 ±5°C (as determined by differential scanning calorimetry at a heating rate of 10°C/min) and having the characteristic values d = 6.81 Å, 5.17 Å, 4.92 Å, 4.00 Å, 3.92 Å and 3.16 Å as determined by X-Ray powder diffraction. Further disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition which comprises the above compound in crystalline form and one or more inert carriers and/or diluents. .
