Provided is a glass plate having a smoothness improving film. The glass plate having a smoothness improving film has a novel coating which can form/remove the film with simple operations and can effectively improve smoothness of the glass plate. The glass plate having a smoothness improving film (1) has a smoothness improving film (3) which comprises a cation surfactant or a cationic polymer on one side of a glass plate (2). The cation surfactant includes ammonium salt or pyridinium salt having a hydrophobic group having at least eight carbons. The cationic polymer has an average molecular weight of 1,000,000 to 2,000,000. The smoothness improving film (3) has a single layered structure which is easily manufactured or handled, and can substantially improve smoothness of the glass plate while being easily removable by cleansing.
