A nutraceutical composition comprising as a functional ingredient an effective amount of a substance extracted from dry, fresh or ensilaged phytomass of genus Amaranthus L., in particular of Amaranthus cruentus L., is provided, and the methods of application thereof in poultry. Said nutraceutical composition may be utilizedas a veterinary preparation in prophylaxis and therapy of functional system's disorders in poultry,farm livestock, fur-bearing animals, farmed fish and household animals, fish and birds. Said composition may be also utilized as a phytogenic feed supplement for poultry, depending on dosage regime, administration duration, and on age and category of poultry stock.L'invention concerne une composition nutraceutique comprenant en tant qu'ingrédient fonctionnel une quantité efficace d'une substance extraite d'une phytomasse sèche, fraîche, ou ensilée du genre Amaranthus L., en particulier d'Amaranthus cruentus L., et leurs procédés d'application chez la volaille. Ladite composition nutraceutique peut être utilisée comme la préparation vétérinaire dans la prophylaxie et la thérapie de troubles d'un système fonctionnel chez la volaille, le bétail, des animaux à fourrure, des poissons d'élevage et des animaux, poissons et oiseaux domestiques. Ladite composition peut également être utilisée comme supplément alimentaire phytogénique pour la volaille, selon le régime posologique, la durée d'administration et l'âge et la catégorie du cheptel de volaille.
