The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating cancer diseases containing a tussilagone compound isolated from a Farfarae Flos extract. The present invention relates to experiment of: an effect on viability of glioblastoma multiforme of tussilagone for the compound of the present invention (experimental example 1)； an effect on the proliferation of U87MG and T98G which are human glioblastoma cell lines (experimental example 2)； an evaluation of the inhibitory effect of the production of ATP which is a cell energy source (experimental example 3)； an effect on the membrane potential of intracellular mitochondria (experimental example 4)； an effect on tumor cell formation ability (experimental example 5)； an effect on the three-dimensional invasion of tumor spheres (experimental example 6)； and an effect on the expression of FoxM1 and MGMT proteins of tussilagone (experimental example 7). In the experiment, the sample of the present invention: solves the problem of Temodal (TMZ) which is currently used as the only brain cancer therapeutic agent； is confirmed to have an ability of overcoming resistance problems by discovering FoxM1 inhibitory mechanism as a central mechanism for stronger anticancer activity and overcoming resistance； and is confirmed to be able to overcome resistance by being used with an existing anticancer agent while being an anticancer agent to replace an existing anticancer agent such as Temodal.
