PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make common use possible for an apparatus for machining an elastic sheet-like member relating to the manufacture of absorbent articles, irrespective of the size of the absorbent articles to be manufactured.SOLUTION: The manufacturing apparatus for absorbent articles includes: an upstream side carrying mechanism CVu a downstream side carrying mechanism CVd which is arranged in a downstream side from the upstream side carrying mechanism an elongation magnification adjusting mechanism 30 which is arranged between the upstream side and the downstream side carrying mechanisms CVu, CVd and a machining device for machining the elastic sheet-like member 7a transported by the downstream side carrying mechanism CVd. A first elastic sheet-like member is sent out to the downstream side carrying mechanism CVd by adjusting the elongation magnification of the first member so that the parts to be the absorbent articles 1 arrayed with a first pitch in the transporting direction are arrayed with a prescribed pitch in the first member.
