Openpages, Inc., a provider of enterprise content-production solutions, has announced the availability of ContentWare 3.0. According to the company, ContentWare 3.0 is the only solution that enables organizations to involve the broadest set of users in the content-production process and deploy content to multiple channels. ContentWare 3.0 provides users with new functionality, including WebExpress (a browser-based tool for remote users), support for Macintosh environments, APIs to customize and transform content, online storage capabilities, and enhanced installation and administration capabilities. ContentWare is deeply integrated with popular desktop applications. According to the announcement, the solution simplifies the content-creation process by allowing users to create content with familiar applications (Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and Macromedia Dreamweaver) and to manage content elements--not just Web pages--in a central repository with a robust work flow. Because digital assets are stored in a central repository in native formats, ContentWare enables content reuse and deployment across multiple communications channels such as Web, print, or wireless. "Our solution empowers users to create, manage, store, and publish content to both the Web and print, circumventing the Webmaster bottlenecks organizations have been forced to deal with over the past few years as Web sites have evolved into mission-critical business systems," said Michael Duffy, Openpages' president and CEO. "ContentWare 3.0 provides an end-to-end application for managing business content through its life cycle. It gives nontechnical users easy access to the right content, enabling them to work in familiar applications and empowering them to make faster, better decisions that will ultimately drive value."
