The European Commission has proposed strategies that would impose restrictions on EU agriculture through targeted reductions in the use of land, antimicrobials, fertilizers, and pesticides. We perform a range of policy simulations to examine the economic implications of several of the proposed targets, finding reduction in global agriculture production, higher prices, less trade, and more global food insecurity.

Errata: On February 23, 2021, the Summary table was revised to correct errors that occurred in data transmission. No other components of the report were affected by the error.
