The dialogue on agricultural innovation and food security is evolving, driven by climate change and geopolitical factors, but significant challenges remain. France, a significant hub for medical biotechnology in Europe, faces stringent regulations, minimal research and development, and low public support for agricultural biotechnology. While the French government permits the import of genetically engineered (GE) products for animal feed, it restricts research and bans cultivation. This situation is unlikely to change in the short term.
