- Amid challenging global economic conditions and asubstantial deterioration of its terms-of-trade,Indonesia's economic growth decelerated to 5.0 percentin the third quarter of 2019, from 5.1 percent in Q2. Domestic drivers of growth slowed.Fixed investment growth weakened further in Q3 giventhe significant decline in commodity prices, and aspolitical uncertainty lingered prior to the announcementof the new cabinet. Total consumptionalso slowed, with Government consumptiondecelerating markedly. This weakness in domesticdemand was mirrored by a large contraction of importvolumes, which together with flat exports meant thatnet exports made a large contribution to growth.
