- Key View Key View: Agricultural production in China has recorded exceptional growth in recent years, driven by an expansion in area cultivated and strong growth in productivity. Output growth is slowing down in some of the largest producing regions owing to pollution and land constraints. The government has acknowledged the challenge and is more reformist than ever, aiming to boost mechanisation and eventually allow the commercialisation of GM crops in the country. Robust consumption growth and the ongoing industrialisation of agriculture will favour the development ofthe livestock and dairy sectors in the coming years. China's agribusiness sector will be very dynamic and see investment opportunities in agtech integration, input use and a robust consumer story, among others.
