- 摘要:
- Key View Key View: Our positive view on the Mexican agribusiness market has consolidated this quarter. This is thanks to a series of marginally net positive forecast revisions on the back of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's pledge to make Mexico self-sufficient in beet chicken and pork, among other agricultural products, and to further support the coffee industry in the aftermath of the roya rust outbreak, posing upside risks to our long-term production forecasts. Rising per capita disposable incomes have also delivered consumption-side growth. We caution that the targeted timelines of the plan are overly ambitious and are unlikely to be reached on time. We have seen upward revisions to our sugar milk, cheese and butter production forecasts and to our barley arid cheese consumption forecasts. However, there have also been downward revisions to our barley and coffee production and butter and coffee consumption forecasts. More broadly, with the future of trade between the US, Mexico and Canada far more clear, our views are increasingly positive - a position which was strengthened further this quarter by Mexico's recent removal of its retaliatory tariffs on US pork imports as the two countries reached an agreement on steel and aluminium tariffs.
