SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MEASURING INTEGRAL BLOOD HEMATOCRITE BASED ON INITIAL FILLING SPEED. The present invention relates to methods for determining the hematocrit of a blood sample, and to devices and systems used in conjunction therewith. The hematocrit value can be determined on its own and additionally can be used to determine a concentration of an analyte in a sample. In an exemplary embodiment of a method for determining the hematocrit value in a blood sample, a blood volume is placed in a sample analysis device that has a working electrode and a counter electrode. An electrical potential is applied between the electrodes and an initial sample fill rate is calculated on the device. One can then determine the blood hematocrit as well as the concentration of an analyte in view of the initial filling rate.
