A hinge mechanism of a hinge type orthosis is disclosed. The hinge type orthosis is wearable by a user and comprises an upper frame, a lower frame spaced apart from the upper frame, and at least one hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism is connected with the upper and lower frames, and the hinge mechanism of the hinge type orthosis comprises an upper hinging sheet, a lower hinging sheet, a first engaging block and a flat spring rack. The upper hinging sheet is connected with the upper frame, and the lower hinging sheet is connected with the lower frame and rotatable relative to the upper hinging sheet. The first engaging block is movably engageable at the same time with the upper and lower hinging sheets.
