PURPOSE: A stem cell cryo-extender and a stem cell cryo-extending method using the same are provided to store stem cells for long time and to increase survival rate after defreeze. CONSTITUTION: A stem cell cryo-extender comprises 0.2-0.4M of sucrose among PBS(phosphate buffered saline) solution, more than 40 volume% of ethylene glycol, and 10-30 volume% of polyvinylpyrrolidone. The stem cell is an adult stem cell. The adult stem cell is bone marrow, peripheral blood, umbilical cord blood or fat originated. The stem cell cryo-extending method comprises the following steps: obtaining cell pellets by centrifugining the cultured stem cells； adding PBS solution which includes more than 40 volume% of ethylene glycol to the cell pellets； and adding the cryo-extender in the cell pellet and keeping in a liquid nitrogen tank.본 발명은 줄기세포(stem cell)의 동결보존(cryopreservation)에 사용되는 조성물 및 상기 조성물을 이용하는 줄기세포의 동결보존방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 줄기세포 동결보존액 및 이를 이용한 동결보존방법에 따르면, 줄기세포를 장기간 보존이 가능하고, 해동 후 생존율이 높을 뿐만 아니라, 해동 후 별도의 처리 없이도 바로 생체에 적용할 수 있는 우수한 효과가 있다.
