A prosthetic hand 10 comprises an elongate body 11, a displaceable first grip 13 attached to the distal end of the body 11 for selective displacement towards or away from a second grip 12, a socket 14 at the proximal end of the body 10 for receiving the limb stump of a user. Fluidic displacement members 15,16 operate a fluidic actuator 17 to displace the grip 13 towards and away from the grip 12 upon actuation of the displacement members 15,16 by the stump of the user. The actuator 17 comprises first and second chambers separated by a displaceable wall from which a ram extends for displacing the first grip 13. The walls of the chambers are folded.
