PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root crop cultivation device made up of simple cultivation units, the device having not so many conditions to be controlled, being easy to handle and capable of performing hydroponics without requiring much nutritious liquid.SOLUTION: A root crop cultivation device comprises: a nutritious liquid supply tank a cultivation vessel a nutritious liquid recovery tank for storing the drained nutritious liquid a culture medium consisting only of ball-shaped culture medium constituent members being laid in a great number in the cultivation vessel, the members having a diameter of about 3 mm and a cultivated crop fix member for keeping a state in which the roots of a root crop are buried in the culture medium and the leaves of the root crop are exposed out from the culture medium. When the nutritious liquid is supplied from the nutritious liquid supply tank to the culture medium, the nutritious liquid is dripped at a prescribed speed, then the dripped nutritious liquid passes through the culture medium, the nutritious liquid seeping its way through the culture medium constituent members from the upper part in the lower direction by gravity inside the culture medium.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】開示の根菜類の栽培装置は、栽培設備が簡素であり、制御事項が少ないことから取り扱いが容易であると共に、多量の養液を必要とせず養液栽培を行うことができる。【解決手段】開示の根菜類の栽培装置は、養液供給タンクと、栽培容器と、排出された養液を溜める養液回収タンクと、直径3ミリメートル程度の球形の培地構成部材のみを栽培容器の中に多数敷き詰めてなる培地と、根菜類の根が培地の中に埋まり、根菜類の葉が培地の外に出ている状態を維持させるための栽培物固定部材と、を備え、養液が養液供給タンクから培地に供給される場合、養液が所定の速度で滴下され、滴下された養液が、重力に従って培地内を上部から下部方向へ、培地構成部材を伝って培地を通り抜けることを特徴とする。【選択図】図1
