A method for making an autologous Protein Solution comprising IL-ira and IL-1². The concentration of IL-ira in the autologous Protein Solution is at least 1500 times greater than the concentration of IL-1². The method comprises: obtaining whole blood or bone marrow from a subject suffering from osteoarthritis fractionating the whole blood or bone marrow to produce a platelet-rich plasma fraction concentrating the platelet-rich plasma fraction by contacting the fraction with polyacrylamide beads and separating the polyacrylamide beads from the platelet-rich plasma to form the autologous Protein Solution.
