PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of suppressing worsening in wearing comfort and an occurrence of skin problems due to residual fluid while being capable of supplying skin care substance with a moistening effect to the skin.SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes a recess 3c of 1 to 10 mm in width and 1 to 5 mm in depth on a surface of a surface sheet 3 by embossing. Further, phosphorylcholine group content polymer as a moisturizing agent is applied on a bottom b of the recess 3c, while the moisturizing agent is not applied on a portion in the vicinity of a top part of the recess 3c nor outside of the recess 3c. Thus, the recess 3c is crushed and the bottom b of the same is pushed up to the skin side when the surface sheet 3 is compressed in the thickness direction by a compression force of a prescribed level or more, and the bottom b of the recess 3c is retained in a position far from the skin side when the compression force applied in the direction of thickness of the surface sheet 3 is less than the prescribed level.
