Many day to day medical procedures require access to blood vessels such as blood test, blood transfusion, administering IV injections etc. and is often a problem to locate the blood veins in the first prick especially in the case of paediatric geriatrics, obese & old people, dark skinned people, cancer patients, etc. Even experienced doctors and paramedic staff face this problem on a day to day basis which leads to unnecessary pricks causing pain and discomfort to the patient. Near Infra Red (NIR) rays have the properties to penetrate through the human skin but are blocked / absorbed by blood flowing through blood vessels. So, if NIR rays are exposed to human body in controlled environment, the exact location of blood veins are exposed. The said invention illuminates the body part of the patient using an NIR camera and visible red light which helps in easily identifying the blood vessels.
