The invention relates to a tool (1) for producing a recess in bone tissue for an implant. The tool has a first elongated tool segment (10) with a first longitudinal axis L1 and a receiving area (14), and the receiving area has a first functional surface (15) which is oriented substantially radially outwards and a second functional surface (16, 17, 18) which is oriented radially inwards about the first longitudinal axis. Additionally, the tool has a second elongated tool segment (20) with a second longitudinal axis L2 and an insertion section (24) which can be inserted into the receiving area of the first tool segment. The insertion section has at least one functional surface (25) which is oriented radially outwards about the second longitudinal axis and interacts with the first functional surface (15) of the first tool segment, said first functional surface being oriented outwards. Additionally, one of the at least one functional surfaces (28) of the insertion section interacts with the second functional surface (18) of the first tool segment. In the process, one functional surface pair of the interacting functional surface pairs (18, 28) is in engagement in order to transmit a torque, and a relative movement is allowed between the other interacting functional surface pair (15, 25) of the functional surface pairs.
