PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an SNR without lengthening reception signal acquisition time.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device includes an irradiation part for irradiating light having a first wavelength onto a subject at a first irradiation frequency, an element for receiving an acoustic wave generated from the subject onto which the light is irradiated and outputting an electric signal, a processing part for acquiring characteristic information of the subject by using the electric signal, a moving part for changing a relative position of the irradiation part with respect to the subject, and a control part for controlling operation of the moving part.
