The present invention relates to a method for producing a high absorption cellulose-based fibrous material excellent in conformational stability. More specifically, provided is a method for producing a high absorption cotton fiber material by maximizing surface hydrophilicity while maintaining an original shape of the fiber after undergoing modification of mercerized cotton fibers using polyalkylene glycol. According to the production method, since the high absorption cellulose-based fibrous material is capable of remarkably maintaining the shape of the fiber in the modification of the cotton fiber while ensuring significantly high moisture content compared to existing methods, the high absorption cellulose-based fibrous material can be applied as materials for wound dressing materials, mask packs, and sanitary material (sanitary napkins and diapers) requiring high absorption.본 발명은 형태 안정성이 우수한 고흡수성 셀룰로오스계 섬유 소재의 제조 방법에 관한 것으로서, 머서화 처리된 면 섬유를 폴리알킬렌글리콜을 이용하여 개질함으로써 섬유 본래의 형상을 유지한 상태에서 표면 친수성을 극대화하여 고흡수성 면 섬유 소재를 제조하는 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 방법을 사용하여 면 섬유를 개질할 경우에는 섬유의 형태를 유지하는 성능이 높고 수분율도 기존 방법 대비 월등히 높으므로 고흡수성이 요구되는 위생재료(생리대, 기저귀 등)과 마스크팩, 창상피복재료 등의 소재로 활용되기에 우수할 것으로 기대된다.
