A seed carrier includes a frame and a main hopper mounted to the frame. Theseed carrier alsoincludes a support arm extending upwardly in relation to the frame, thesupport arm having afirst end and a second end. The seed conveyor also includes a conveyor coupledto the supportarm, the conveyor having an intake end and a discharge end and being pivotablerelative to thesupport arm between a self-loading position and an unloading position. Theconveyor alsoincludes a main conveyor having a lower end and an upper end and an intakeconveyor pivotallyconnected to the lower end of the main conveyor. The conveyor also includes alift-assistassembly coupled between the main conveyor and the intake conveyor, the lift-assist assemblyapplying a force with an upward component to the intake conveyor at a positionspaced from thepivot, whereby the weight of the intake conveyor is counterbalanced so as torender the intakeconveyor manually pivotable. The conveyor also includes a latch mechanismcoupled to at leastone of the intake conveyor and the main conveyor.
