The medical imaging apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a display unit which displays a first image including an object； a user interface unit which outputs a first list including at least one protocol to be applied when the object is scanned, and selectively receives a first protocol included in the first list if a first region included in the first image is selected； and a control unit which controls to display a second image restored by using image data obtained by applying the first protocol to overlap on the first region of the first image.
