PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope and endoscope system that enable two directions to be simultaneously observed using a single endoscope and furthermore enable a diameter of distal end of an insertion section to be reduced and can display each observation image on a monitor as an image having high resolution.SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises: an operation section 11 an insertion section 12 including a flexible tube section 16 extending forward from the operation section, a bending section that is positioned in front of the flexible tube section and bends according to operation of bending operation means 15A, 15B provided in the operation section, a connection section 17 that is made from hard material and connects the distal end of the flexible tube section with the rear end of the bending section, and a distal end hard section 33 that is made from hard material and extends forward from the distal end of the bending section first observation optical systems 34, 35 provided while exposed to the surface of the distal end hard section a first imaging device 37 that is provided inside the distal end hard section and captures an observation image having penetrated the first observation optical systems second observation optical systems 23, 24 provided while exposed to the surface of the connection sections and a second imaging device 26 that is provided inside the connection section and captures an observation image having penetrated the second observation optical systems.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
