In one or more embodiments, the present invention relates to a poly (propylene fumarate) functionalized to add a functional group for post-polymerization modification to a bioactive material or other functional species, possibly via one of a number of easy “click” reactions. It relates to polymers and polymer structures (and related methods) made therefrom. In some embodiments, end group functionalization is achieved through the functionalized starting alcohol used in the polymerization process.
