THE PRESENT INVENTION IS A LIPID EMULSION PRODUCT FOR PARENTERAL USE AND AS A PARENTERAL DRUG OR A DRUG DELIVERY AGENT. THE LIPID EMULSION IS MADE FROM PALM OIL, THOUGH A PROCESS INVOLVING THE USE OF A HIGH PRESSURE HOMOGENIZER, STABILIZED BY EMULSIFYING AGENTS FROM EGG LECITHIN AND SOYBEAN LECITHIN. A NEW PROTOTYPE LIPID EMULSION IS DEVELOPED USING PALM OIL FROM SPECIES OF E. GUINEENSIS. THE EMULSION HAS THE PHYSICOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT CONFIRM TO THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PARENTERAL USE AND PHARMACEUTICAL, PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND STABILITY STANDARDS FOR A PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION TO DETERMINE SUITABILITY FOR INJECTIONS. THE EMULSION CAN BE USED AS A LIPID SOURCE IN PARENTERAL NUTRITION THERAPY, IN PATIENTS WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO USE THE GASTROINTESTINAL ROUTE TO OBTAIN NUTRIENTS AND CAN BE USED AS A PARENTERAL DRUG, VITAMINS AND GENE CARRIERS.
