PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physiologically active component which acts on the skin aging based on internal and external factors, such as blotches and dark spots or wrinkles and sagging, or the unhealthy condition from a variety of angles and compositely to exhibit excellent prevention or improving effect and to give an overall skin whitening effect to the skin and excels in biosafety without skin irritation or the like, and a cosmetic which comprises this component and has excellent skin aging prevention/skin whitening effect and high safety.
SOLUTION: A fermentation product is obtained by fermenting plants belonging to the Hibiscus L. genus in the Malvaceae family with microbes such as lactic acid bacteria. The cosmetic contains the fermentation product as an active ingredient.
