PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper capable of effectively preventing excreta discharged on a center sheet from leaking out from the waist periphery of the diaper to the outer side.

SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1A has an end part water repellent sheet 72 composed of an air permeable water repellent material and disposed from the end part 22a on the side of the front body 2 of an absorbent 22 and the end part 22b on the side of a back body 6 on the surface of the center sheet 18a configuring a top sheet 18 to the end edge side of a back sheet 20. The center sheet 18a is configured in such a shape that the end edge is positioned more on the side of a crotch part 4 than the end edge of the back sheet 20. Also, the end part water repellent sheet 72 is disposed so as to be extended more to the end edge side of the back sheet 20 than the end edge of the center sheet 18a, the end edge on the side of the crotch part 4 of the end part water repellent sheet 72 is opened, and a pocket-like space for temporarily accumulating the excreta is formed.
