PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding a rice ball by which a high-quality rice ball which has a soft and puffy feeling inside in spite of having a firm surface with handmade feeling.SOLUTION: The method for molding a rice ball comprises: a process for tucking in a sheet-like cooked rice with an ingredient placed on into a prescribed shape and thereafter inserting the cooked rice into a rice ball-molding hole 6a of a molding table 6 a process for rotating the molding table to a molding position to mold the cooked rice with molds 10, 12 and a process for rotating the molding table to a discharging position to discharge the molded rice ball from the rice ball molding hole.
