PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin absorber which has excellent absorption rate, causes little liquid return and has excellent wear feeling, and an absorbent article comprising the absorber.SOLUTION: An absorber 1 includes a high absorbent sheet 10 and an open hole film 20 having a plurality of open holes. The high absorbent sheet 10 has a substrate non-woven fabric 11 whose body side surface is raised and a high absorbent polymer 12 which is fixed and supported between fibers of raised parts of the substrate non-woven fabric. The open hole film 20 covers the body side surface of at least the high absorbent sheet 10.
