PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image photographing device which can precisely detect irradiation start of a radiation ray with the device itself by using an existing function section in the device.SOLUTION: Control means 22 of a radiation image photographing device 1 allows repeat of: reading processing for applying ON-state voltage from a gate driver 15b to a single or a plurality of scan lines 5d which are previously designated among all scan lines 5 connected to a gate driver 5b of scan driving means 15 before a radiation image is photographed to read irradiation start detection data d and reset processing of respective radiation detection elements 7 for sequentially applying the ON-state voltage to a single or a plurality of scan lines 5 except for the plurality of scan lines 5d which are previously designated from the gate driver 15b.
