A method of disinfecting hands, which includes contacting the hands with the composition or applying the composition to the hands, where the composition contains the following (a), (b), (c) and (d), but no other disinfecting agents intended for microbiocidal disinfection :( a) from 40 to 90% (m / m) of ethanol, isopropyl alcohol or a mixture thereof； (b) from 0.1 to 2% (m / m) of lactic acid； (c) from 0.01 to 2% (m / m) citric acid； and (d) from 0.001 to 0.1% (m / m) of a zinc-containing compound that releases zinc ion in solution, relative to the entire composition.
