A urinary catheter assembly comprises a urinary catheter 1 and a tubular casing 2 being adapted to be arranged in a first storage position and a second use position. A one-way locking element 4 is arranged in the vicinity of the openable end, and arranged to be brought into a one-way locked disposition to lock the catheter shaft for movement in one direction in relation to the tubular casing when the cap is opened, preventing displacement of the urinary catheter away from the proximal end of the tubular casing in a first direction towards the distal end, but allowing displacement of the urinary catheter in an opposite second direction, and further arranged automatically to release the one-way locking disposition upon movement of the catheter in the second direction.
