Определяют наиболее безопасную для пункции центральную вену, измеряют ее диаметр, затем выбирают необходимый диализный катетер, наружный диаметр которого меньше или равен ½ диаметра вены. Осуществляют пункцию вены иглой-катетером типа флексюля с мандреном, диаметр который на два размера меньше иглы диализного катетера. Пунктируют вену под контролем УЗИ для корректировки направления и движения катетера типа флексюля. После проникновения в венозное русло катетера типа флексюля удаляют мандрен. При этом в просвете вены остается эластичный тонкий катетер типа флексюля. Далее по этому катетеру в просвет вены по Сельдингеру
