A border is proposed which serves as a limiting edge for planted areas such as lawns, beds or the like. The border is punched from a metal sheet or from plastic sheeting and has a vertical leg (16) and a horizontal leg (17). The two end regions of the legs (16, 17) have V-shaped points (14, 15) which are formed by zigzag cut-outs (12, 13). The front half of the points (15) in the horizontal part (17) are bent vertically downwards and are anchored in the soil, as is the vertical leg (16). <IMAGE>
