I designed entirely new flexible laparoscopes, first of its kind in the world, designed in 5 mm and 8 mm, (Photo1) totally flexible at all points with a memory and a video camera with 6 leds (Photo3) fitted in the tip itself making rod lenses and fiber optics outdated. Since there is no image loss the image quality (Photo3) is much superior to the rod lenses. It can be flexed at 90 degree at port site (Photo2) to avoid tussle with other instruments. Cost of manufacturing Rs 5000. Sterilization is done by putting in Formalin chamber or ethylene oxide gas. The camera is fitted at the tip of a flexible tube with 5 mm diameter. Medical grade Teflon sleeve raised above the flexible tube. The wires of the camera are connected to usb Hub whiich is fitted outside the holder of the scope which is made of fiber.
