A protection device comprises a cover body, a tongue piece, a combination structure, an actuation structure, and a buckling structure. The combination structure enables the rear end of the cover body to be joined with the tail part of the tongue piece. The tongue piece has a flexible part for enabling the head part of the tongue piece to reciprocate between an opening position and a closing position. When being at the closing position, a butterfly needle is retreated into the tongue piece and both two are placed into the cover body at the same time, while the buckling structure is used to prevent the tongue piece from leaving the cover body.
