A device for providing a visual indication associated with a medical injectoris described. Thedevice includes an outer housing defining a window, an inner housing, anelastomericmember, a carrier, a system actuator, a piston, and an indicator. The carrierreceives aportion of the inner housing. The system actuator is configured to releaseenergy from anenergy storage member to produce a force. A first end portion of the pistonreceives theforce to move a second end portion of the piston and the elastomeric memberwithin theinner housing to activate the device. The carrier and the inner housing areconfigured suchthat a portion of the inner housing is viewable through the window when thedevice is aninitial configuration. The indicator is configured to move with the pistonwithin the outerhousing, at least a portion of the indicator being viewable through thewindow.
